Keep reading for one of Dave’s personal favorite recipes! His energy soup is perfect for ending a detox or needing a boost throughout the day. This recipe was inspired and modified from the energy soup recipe by the late Ann Wigmore of Natural Health Institute.   • 2 c water
  • 4 c spinach (about 2 handfuls)
  • 1/2 c sprouts
  • 1/2 c almonds (soaked overnight)
  • 1 pc dulse seaweed vegetable
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 large apple
  • 2 T liquid aminos
  • 3 T carrots (shaved)
  • 1/8 c blueberries
  • 2 medium pears
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper
  • Servings: 6
  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • 1 Vitamix or other strong blender


Set aside a small amount of the carrot, berries and sprouts for a garnish. Add all ingredients except for the pear to the blender. Blend well. Using a large hand grater, grate the pear into a pile. Place the piles of pear into each bowl to create a mountain-like appearance. Place the blended cold soup around the mountain of grated pear. Each serving size is 1/6 of the blended mixture. Garnish with a couple of berries and carrots that are cut like a shoe string. Add a few single sprouts. Sprinkle gently with cayenne pepper and serve cold.
